Solid Management Center Held Health Toxicology Expert Seminar on Revision of "New Chemical Substance Declaration and Registration Guidelines"

On July 21, 2014, our center held a health toxicology expert seminar on the revision of the Guidelines for the Application and Registration of New Chemical Substances in Beijing. The Chemical Division of the Pollution Prevention Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection sent personnel to attend the meeting. Some members of the health toxicology professional group of the Environmental Management Expert Review Committee of Chemical Substances attended the meeting.

The revision of the "Guidelines for the Registration of New Chemical Substances" has received great attention from the majority of applicants and relevant industry associations, and a large number of opinions and suggestions have been submitted. Our center organized technical forces to carefully study all opinions and suggestions, and compared them with relevant foreign laws and regulations, and on this basis, fully communicated with relevant units.

This meeting discussed the relevant opinions and suggestions submitted at all levels, such as the requirements for health toxicological data and exemption conditions for the declaration of new chemical substances in China, one by one, focusing on the requirements for the submission of acute toxicity, repeated exposure and mutagenicity for the first-level declaration, the requirements for the submission of carcinogenicity and chronic toxicity data for the fourth-level declaration, and the specific exemption clauses. On the basis of fully considering the current situation and technical support level of environmental management of new chemical substances in China, absorbing and drawing on the feasible experience of foreign chemical management and reducing the burden of enterprise declaration, the experts at the meeting reached an agreement, which plays an important role in promoting the revision of the Guide.
