Attention! Government of India requires mandatory monthly submission of chemical/petrochemical data

Release time:

2024-03-11 14:06

On 27 February 2024, the Government of India issued an important circular requiring chemical and petrochemical industry units registered in India to log on the ChemIndia portal and submit data on chemicals/petrochemicals on a monthly basis under the Statistics Act 2008 of India. According to Article 11 of the Appendix to the Official Notice, the official personnel or their designated personnel may check the records of the relevant units.

What needs to be reminded is that India currently does not have an existing list of chemical substances, so Xin Anrun conjectures that this mandatory requirement may provide some data reference for the establishment of the existing list of chemical substances in the future. At the end of the article, the contents of this mandatory requirement will be sorted out for the reference of enterprises.

Indian ChemIndia Portal

The ChemIndia portal is a data management platform for collecting, compiling and analyzing real-time data from registered chemical and petrochemical industry units.

Statistical data include chemical data, production volume, equipment capacity, import and export volume, sales volume and other information. These statistics are essential for the compilation of the monthly index of industrial production (IIP) and will subsequently be provided to the Economic Statistics Division of the National Statistical Office (NSO) for the generation of the monthly IIP report.

Over the past year, India's Department of Chemistry and Petrochemicals (DCPC) has been working to make the ChemIndia portal the official platform for chemical data submission. The work has been published in the official announcement of the relevant results, marking the ChemIndia portal officially recognized and began to promote.
