Turkish Chemical Registration KKDIK Registration Extension Draft Released

On November 13, 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change (MoEUCC) published draft amendments to the KKDIK regulation for the advice and comments of stakeholders and local industry associations. The deadline for proposals is November 20, 2023.

After the proposal period ends, the MoEUCC will make a final evaluation and publish the amendments in the Official Gazette. Given these steps, we can expect the amendment to be published in the first or second week of December.

apart from the details of the test proposals and application dates for authorization affected by the change in the registration deadline, the main title of the amendment is the extension of the registration deadline.

The deadline for registration of substances that meet the following conditions is 31 December 2026:

Manufactured or imported> 1000 tons;

> 100 tons of material classified as Aquatic Acute 1 and Aquatic Chronic 1(H400, H410);

> 1 ton of substances classified as CMR Cat 1A and 1B.

Registration deadline 31 December 2028 for manufacturing or importing 100-1000 tonnes of substances

Registration deadline 31 December 2030 for manufacturing or importing 1-100 tonnes of substances

The pre-registration deadline has not yet been set and will be detailed in the forthcoming official announcement document.
