As for MSDS, we all know that it is a comprehensive legal document on the characteristics of chemicals provided to customers by chemical production or sales enterprises in accordance with legal requirements. Many people are also questioning that the MSDS report does not belong to the category of certification information, so can the production or sales enterprises make such an MSDS report by themselves? What is the difference between the MSDS report made by themselves and the report made by a professional organization, and whether it has the same relevant validity?
Q1: Does MSDS have to be officially certified?
Answer: MSDS is not a certification concept, do not need official authorization to prepare, can be prepared by the factory itself. However, due to the different legal documents of chemical management and trade in different countries, some of them change from time to time, and MSDS provides 16 items of chemical physical and chemical parameters, combustion and explosion performance, health hazards, safe use and storage, leakage disposal, first aid measures and relevant laws and regulations. Personnel who are not engaged in professional research will inevitably have omissions. In order to ensure the quality of MSDS, it is recommended to apply to professional institutions for compilation.
Question 2: Do you need to send samples for testing?
Answer: The preparation of MSDS does not require sample testing, but the manufacturer must provide the detailed composition ratio of the product and the basic information of the product. According to the information provided by the manufacturer, the evaluation is carried out in accordance with the relevant MSDS standards. If the customer has special requirements, the product can be tested to obtain the required data.
