Hazardous waste refers to the waste with hazardous characteristics listed in the national list of hazardous waste or identified according to the national hazardous waste identification standards and identification methods. Hazardous wastes may cause pathogenicity or fatality to humans, animals and plants, or cause harm to the environment. Different types of hazardous wastes may be flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic or infectious.
Part of the waste is not a hazardous waste, and some enterprises dispose of such items as hazardous waste, which greatly increases the cost. If the enterprise encounters waste that is not in the list of hazardous waste, it can apply for hazardous waste identification. If the identification result certifies that such items are not hazardous waste, they can be disposed of as general solid waste.
The generating unit of hazardous waste shall, in accordance with the hazardous waste management plan formulated by the state, declare the type, generation point, generation amount, storage amount and other information of hazardous waste in the local environmental protection administrative department and put it on record. If you fail to file with the environmental protection administrative department in time, or dispose of hazardous waste without permission, you will receive environmental protection administrative penalties.
Hazardous wastes shall be collected and managed according to their hazardous characteristics. Mixing with incompatible containers is prohibited. Which can choose to classify storage, partition storage or separate storage.
Hazardous waste shall be stored in accordance with the GB18597-2001 requirements of the Hazardous Waste Storage Pollution Control Standard. Among them, the hazardous waste storage ground shall be impervious, and the place shall be sealed. Anti-leakage trenches and water collection wells shall be set to collect hazardous wastes that may leak. Cofferdam shall be set up in front of hazardous waste warehouse; Warning signs and labels shall be set up in hazardous waste warehouse, labels shall be attached to hazardous waste packaging, and hazardous waste entry and exit ledger shall be set up.
